JEB - Diploma in Information Technology Skills
J H Pitman founded the JEB (Joint Examining Board) in 1912. It is now an internationally recognised teaching and training qualification. Participants who successfully complete the JEB Course will be qualified to teach Information Technology, thus enhancing job opportunities and opening doors to greater career prospects.
Course Aims:
The aim of the course is to equip participants with the necessary skills for teaching Computer and Information Technology. The Diploma can lead to employment with a Further Education College, a training organisation, schools, colleges or within the training department of a company.
Candidates must attend an introduction evening prior to commencement.
A limited number of places are available.
Entry Requirements
Trainees must hold 5 passes in their Leaving Certificate - mature students may be exempt.
Trainees must have a good working knowledge of any one of the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel or Access
Candidates who do not hold a teaching qualification will be required to sit the General Principles of Teaching and Training examination paper and undergo teaching practice.
Candidates must be 20 or over on the date of the examinations
Candidates who already hold a teaching or training qualification (i.e. H Dip or B Ed) may be given exemption from the General Principles of Teaching and Training paper examination. Evidence of this training must be provided i.e. original degree and a photocopy. in the case of candidates who have a teaching qualification gained before 1997, JEB requires them to provide a letter from the school confirming that they have up to date training experience of 10 hours or more per week.
At Assist Training our trainers have been delivering quality courses to both individuals and to businesses over many years. To ensure that candidates receive maximum individual attention, class sizes are small, typically 15 students per class. Classes are held during the day, the evenings, or on Saturday.
