Course Level:

Course Objectives:

To determine the data processing requirements of a customer/client, undertake data analysis of an existing system, produce a data model of an existing system, devise a normalised relational data model, produce a working database and test and document a customised database management system.

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of Database Methods Level II or extremely good working knowledge of Microsoft Access.

Duration:

15 weeks (45hrs)

Certification:

City & Guilds Certificate in Information Technology (Level III)

Examinations:

One project-based body of work consisting of three practical assignments: planning, development, testing and documentation.
