Q) Are there different types of ECDL training courses?
A) Yes. You have 2 options
Stream 1 - Designed for those who have previous experience using the PC. You will be fairly familiar with Word and Excel. This course is 14 weeks in duration.
Stream 2 - Designed for those who have previous PC experience but require a refresh on Filing, Saving, Selecting text, and other windows features. This course is 16 weeks in duration.
Q) How will I know if I am able to do the ECDL?
A) If you are unsure about taking the ECDL or would like to know a little more about what is involved we would be delighted to talk to you. Our team is always here to explain how the course is delivered. We have designed a simple pre-course questionnaire which will help you to assess your skill level. Together we can discuss your options and decide which stream suits your needs.
Q) How do I reserve my place on a course?
A) A deposit of 100 Euro will reserve your place on any of our courses. You may also reserve a place provisionally by emailing or calling us by phone. We cannot hold a place indefinitely so would urge you to secure your place by deposit.
Q) Can I sit ECDL assessments without taking a course with Assist Training?
A) Yes, you can sit all or some of your assessments with us
Q) Will everyone have their own computer while training?
A) Yes
Q) Does one have to have taken and passed all 7 ECDL modules before taking the Advanced ECDL modules?
A) It is not a pre-requisite to have taken the full ECDL before commencing Advanced ECDL, but it is required that you have passed both the Word Processing and Spreadsheet modules in order to undergo the advanced modules.

Q) When do I have to pay for the course?
A) To secure your place on an evening course we require a 100 Euro deposit. The remainder is due on the first evening of training. If your company wishes to pay for the training we will send you an invoice. For all other training the full fee is due on the first day of training.
Q) Is there VAT on Training
A) No, training is VAT exempt

Q) What happens if a course falls on a Bank Holiday - do we still attend training?
A) No - Unless the class decide to attend on a Bank Holiday training is carried over to the following week.
Q) Is there a help line available if I have problems after training.
A) Yes, we provide a 6 month telephone / email help line following the completion of training.
